John Austin has carried out research into aspects of the Taxi and Private Hire Market over a long priod, including how the potential of this sector can be maximised to strengthen travel opportunities.  Austin Analytics works with a number of others in this field, but particularly with Social Research Associates.

At the initiative of Social Research Associates, and supported by several agencies, the National Association of Taxi Users (NATU) was founded in late 2010, and John Austin is currently Vice-Chairman.  See NATU's website at www.taxiuser.org.uk

The House of Commons Transport Commitee issued its report on 'Taxis and private hire vehicles: the road to reform' on 19th July 2011, and NATU is delighted that many of its recommendations show a way to achive better quality provision of taxis for users.  NATU's press release is here: for the Transport Commitee's report see the UK Parliament website here.
