'Principles of successful high-quality public transport operation and development'

Austin Analytics is the UK partner in this international collaborative research project funded under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme and now recently completed. PROCEED has been conducting research into public transport operations in small and medium sized cities and on how to improve its attractiveness to users, its efficiency and effectiveness. Initially, the project mapped and analysed successful case cities, and this has led to a tool for planning and delivering successful public transport, now completed.

The project has given a better understanding of the key factors that influence public transport, as well as how the position of public transport in the transport system can be strengthened so its market share can increase.
